Hawaii
The State of Hawaii launched its reentry program in 2017 to address the unique challenges faced by individuals transitioning back into society. With a prison population of around 5,200, the state has focused on reducing its recidivism rate, which currently hovers around 50%. Partnerships with local organizations and community support are key components in helping former inmates successfully reintegrate and reduce the likelihood of reoffending.
Our New Beginning
Hawaii marks our second state of operation, with reentry efforts starting in September 2024. Building on our success in Texas, we’re bringing our comprehensive support services to the islands, addressing the unique challenges faced by those reentering society in Hawaii.
Collaborative Partnerships
In Hawaii, we prioritize working closely with local prisons, community organizations, and other nonprofits. By joining forces, we tailor our support to meet the unique needs of Hawaii’s reentry population, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive approach to reintegration.
Physical Presence in Hawaii
We’re establishing a strong presence across Hawaii, starting in Wahiawa and Honolulu with a goal to expand to other key locations. Our goal is to ensure that every individual in Hawaii has access to the support they need for successful reintegration.
Community Impact
Although new, our work in Hawaii is poised to make a significant impact. We aim to replicate the success we've seen in Texas by reducing recidivism and empowering individuals to rebuild their lives within their communities.
